These Butterflies Are Free Now

The Ladies League of Detroit Bags to Butterflies program empowers formerly incarcerated women with transitional employment, resources and a caring network to assist with their journey to success. They are creating jobs in Detroit using a common women’s accessory: a handbag. they are holding a fundraiser from 1 to 4 p.m., October 2.

The event is similar to a vision board party; however, instead of creating a vision board, participants will be writing their vision inside a leather cross-body bag so they can take their vision wherever they go. It begins with a facilitator walking the ladies through identifying their vision and ends with an associate walking them through creating their bag.
