Soy-Free Eggs at Pure Pastures Organic Food Store

Many egg farms in
Michigan are USDA Organic, but Gary Kuneman, owner of Pure Pastures, says, “I
have visited some of these producers, and although they consume organic grains,
the birds never see the light of day. A truly healthy egg should come from a
chicken that is roaming outside in the sunshine, pecking at the ground and
consuming as many insects as possible.”
Most eggs produced in the U.S. are fed soy, a cheap protein
that helps the birds lay more consistently. “Nobody knows for sure how much of
the soy will be transferred to our bodies or even what effects it will have on
us,” he explains. “There are other sources of protein available to replace soy,
including pea protein and seafood protein. Soy-free eggs are available at Pure
Pastures, if that is a concern for your family’s health.”
