The nonprofit North Rosedale Park Civic Association is sponsoring a
charity Dinner for Learning: Loving Arms for Liberia from 5 to 8 p.m., November
24, to build a learning resource center to aid the citizens of the East African
country. It will provide the citizens of Liberia a space to learn, grow and
thrive. All donations are tax-deductible, and all proceeds from the ticket
sales will go directly toward building the learning resource center. With each
ticket, participants will receive a meal plus the opportunity to win the silent
auction, the raffle and enjoy the photo booth.
Founder Anthony Watson says, “My goal is to do everything I can for the
kids back home who have been devastated by the war and ebola; to put clothes on
their back and shoes on their feet. It’s from the kindness in people’s hearts
that we’re able to do just that.” Every ticket sold will directly impact the
life of a Liberian. In the next few months, Loving Arms for Liberia will have
building plans and scale drawings of the future learning resource center.
Admission is $25. Location: 18445
Scarsdale St., Detroit. For tickets, visit Tinyurl.com/LiberiaCharityDinner.
